El Nido is a family run resort and we will personally welcome you to Costa Rica.
El Nido is a mother daughter venture of Gail and Maitreya, your onsite host is Gail. We are from the West Coast of Canada, and both love travel and are enthusiastic about Puerto Viejo and Costa Rica. We have travelled together to Thailand, China, Japan, India, and of course, Costa Rica. And separately we have each covered a lot more ground. Before moving to Costa Rica, Gail lived in Thailand for 12 years, and Maitreya lives most of the time in Canada. Maitreya spends part of the year in Costa Rica and is sometimes the host at El Nido cabinas. We both love to share our enthusiasm for Costa Rica, and help our guests get the most out of their experiences with us.
El Nido cabinas also has an onsite resort assistant and his wife, Silvio and Crystal. Silvio is of French and German decent, but was born and raised in Playa Chiquita, and speaks English, French, German, and Spanish. With his wealth of knowledge about the Caribbean area, Silvio can provide authentic local ideas for your vacation. Silvio also makes and sells fresh bread in the Puerto Viejo farmer's market.
